Oh my goodness, guys! I can’t tell you how much I loved this wedding day! I fell in love with this couple when I did their engagement shoot last February (you can see it here). They are kind and sweet and genuine people. They love Jesus and love others. They love to laugh and snuggle together and are naturals in front of the camera. The wedding started at Janel’s sister’s AMAZING historic home in Franklin, IN. Seriously, guys, this house is gorgeous. They have put so much work into it and everywhere I looked, I was in awe. After the girls were all ready, we did a few photos in Franklin before we drove to Jon’s grandparents’ home where Jon and Janel had a small intimate ceremony in his grandparents’ woods with their closest family and friends. There were so many sweet moments throughout the day but the one that hit me the most was a part of the ceremony. Janel’s maid of honor read a poem that Janel’s grandma had written before she passed away. The poem is titled “If I knew” and the words speak so much wisdom and truth about life and love. It was a wonderful and beautiful moment. After the ceremony, we did more photos in and around the woods and then drove to Janel’s parents’ home for the big reception with tons of their friends and family. Her parents built an amazing barn that is perfect for weddings. Another sweet moment was after dinner. Jon and Janel don’t really like cake, so instead of sharing a bite of cake they fed each other a bite of their favorite thing – ice cream! I love how little details like this truly reflected them as a couple on their big day. Jon and Janel danced their first dance as the sun set behind them and then we partied the night away. There are so many photos in this blog post – I know I have a problem – but I just love taking photos and I love sharing them. So, enjoy!
