Tara and Ryan are two people whose smiles can genuinely light up a room. They are full of kindness, joy, laughter, and the kind of energy that makes everyone around them feel instantly comfortable. From the moment I arrived, it was obvious that their wedding day was going to be full of fun and so much love.
We started the day at the beautiful Sixpence, tucked away in the bridal suite while Tara and her girls were getting ready. I absolutely love the space Sixpence has for the bridal party. The light, the beautiful details, and the atmosphere make it such a perfect place to begin a wedding day. There was plenty of excitement and anticipation as the girls finished getting ready and soaked in those last few moments before everything officially began.
Tara shared such a sweet first look with her dad, and you could immediately see how much that moment meant to both of them. Then we moved on to the moment everyone had been waiting for, the first look between Tara and Ryan. Ryan’s reaction when he turned around and saw Tara was absolutely perfect. There were happy hugs and happy tears, and Tara’s smile said everything. It was one of those moments that didn’t need any direction or prompting. They were simply soaking in the fact that they were finally standing there together on their wedding day.
From there, we jumped right into portraits around the Sixpence property. And, because this is Indiana in August, we had a little bit of everything thrown at us! We definitely had some raindrops falling on us throughout the day, but it all worked out. And then, somehow, the sun came out for a little bit during their ceremony! As we got closer to sunset, I was pretty convinced we weren’t going to get one. But Indiana decided to surprise us, and the clouds opened up just enough for the most gorgeous evening light.
So, naturally, we took full advantage of it. Tara and Ryan spent their sunset portraits twirling, laughing, running around, and doing plenty of lifts and kisses! We got that beautiful golden light I had been hoping for, and it couldn’t have been a more perfect way to end their portraits.
But the celebration definitely didn’t end there. Their reception was filled with so much energy from beginning to end. The dance floor was packed with their family and friends. There was no shortage of laughter and dancing. It was one of those receptions where you could look around the room and immediately see how loved this couple is.
Tara and Ryan, thank you for allowing me to be part of such a meaningful and incredibly fun day. It was such an honor to document all of these moments for you. Your joy is contagious, and it was so easy to see how much you love each other and the people who surrounded you on your wedding day. I am so excited to see what God has in store for your life together, and I am so thankful I got to be there to capture the beginning of this next chapter.
