Andrea + Caleb

This wedding was extra special to me. I’ve known Andrea, the stunning bride, and her family for years! They are truly some of the most incredible people I’ve ever met. They are always looking out for others, serving with such genuine, kind hearts, and sharing the love of Jesus in the way they live every day.

Here’s a fun little connection – I had the privilege of knowing Andrea in a completely different role, too! She was actually my son’s 4th grade teacher last year, and this year he’s been lucky enough to have her mom as his 5th grade teacher. It’s such a sweet, full-circle moment for our families. Another fun fact – Andrea’s dad is also an incredibly talented photographer. If you follow me on social media, you’ve definitely seen his work! He captures some of the best sports and media day photos for our school’s teams. My kids are always so excited when it’s media day photos with Mr. Cottongim!

This was my first time shooting at Whippoorwill Hill, and it did not disappoint. The property is absolutely beautiful. We started the day in the most charming white house where the girls got ready, surrounded by laughter, hair and makeup, and all the excitement of the morning. From there, we stepped outside to soak in the gorgeous spring weather for portraits! It felt like the perfect day. It was a little windy, but nothing we could complain about.

After wrapping up photos with Andrea, her bridesmaids and her family, I spent some time with Caleb and his family. It was a joy getting to know them. In fact, during sunset portraits, Caleb, Andrea and I found ourselves talking about how incredibly blessed they are to both come from such loving, supportive families. And I know that Caleb and Andrea will carry on that legacy of a loving home.

The ceremony is almost always one my favorite parts of my wedding days. And this one was so sweet! I loved seeing Caleb’s reaction as Andrea walked down the aisle. I’m so thankful I had my second shooter, Callie, there to capture his emotional reaction. It was such a beautiful moment and reminds me of why I love photographing wedding days. I love those real moments of emotion.

After the ceremony, we made the most of cocktail hour, fitting in tons of fun photos around the property. Whippoorwill Hill has so many beautiful and unique spots, and the staff even had a golf cart ready to take us wherever we wanted to go.

The reception was such a great time, but one of the biggest highlights for me was Andrea and her dad surprising everyone with a choreographed dance – it was sooooo good!!!!

Andrea and Caleb, thank you so much for trusting me to capture your wedding day. It was truly an honor to be part of such a meaningful and joy-filled celebration. Congratulations to you both! Can’t wait to see what God has in store for you guys!
