I walked away from this wedding day feeling so happy and blessed. This job allows me to meet some of the most amazing people and for that – I am so thankful! From the very first time I spoke to Brittney on the phone, I could tell she was sweet, kind and incredibly caring. She has such a strong love for others and I can’t tell you how many times she checked in with me to see how SHE could make HER wedding day easier for ME!!!! There are powerful words found in Mark 12:30-31. It says, “Love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your mind, and all your strength. The second is this: Love your neighbor as yourself. No other commandment is greater than these.” Anyone who meets Brittney can tell you that she tries to live out this scripture and because of that – the love of Jesus shines out of her. And then I got to meet Bryson who is as equally loving and caring! I absolutely loved watching him with his friends and family throughout the day. He was a true gentleman who made sure everyone was ok and having a wonderful time. This couple is going to do mighty things together. At one point during the day, the videographers and I were talking about how everyone involved in this wedding (family and bridal party) were so incredibly kind… but… like REALLY honestly kind.
We started the wedding day at the Brittney’s parents house with hair and makeup. And while I was in their home, Brittney’s sweet mom showed me her other children’s beautiful wedding photos. She told me that she and her husband prayed for their kids’ future spouses from the day their children were born. I have heard this a lot and my husband and I also pray for our children’s future spouses but Brittney’s mom went on to tell me what they prayed for. They prayed for 3 things. For their children to marry someone who 1.) loves Jesus, 2.) is kind and 3.) is a hard worker. What incredible words!!!! So on my way over to the wedding venue, I called my husband and shared that wisdom with him so we can now specifically pray for those 3 things for my 5 kids!
The wedding took place at the Wilds in Bloomington. I have photographed many weddings at the Wilds but this was my first time there in the winter. And this venue did not disappoint. It is just as wonderful in the winter as it is in any other season. Thankfully Brittney and Bryson and their bridal party were willing to brave the cold with me so we could still take advantage of all the amazing nature that surrounds this stunning venue. The ceremony was so beautiful and Christ-centered and their party was LIT!!!!! These people know how to dance and have fun! I could go on and on about this wedding day but I have so many photos to show you all! So, I need to stop typing now.
Congratulations, Brittney and Bryson! Thank you for allowing me to be a small part of your amazing day!
