When Pati reached out to me to see if I could photograph her and Will’s wedding, I was so excited! I had met Pati YEARS AGO when she was a bridesmaid in one of my weddings. I can’t say enough kind and wonderful things about Pati and Will. They are incredible humans with huge hearts! The amount of time and effort they put into their wedding day to make sure their guests were loved and honored was truly amazing. They actually wrote a personalized letter to each of their tables for their guests to read during the reception. I had never seen this done before and it was so precious to look around the room and watch all their guests read their letters. And get this – Pati and Will even wrote a letter to the vendor table thanking us for all our hard work!!!! Agghhhhh! I just love them! They are so wonderful! I honestly could go on and on about these two but I need to fill you in on their wedding day. Pati and Will live in California but wanted to get married back in their home state of Indiana. So, they chose one of the most amazing venues that Indiana has to offer – The French Lick Resort! We actually did their engagement session in French Lick and if you haven’t seen those photos, stop what you are doing right now and check it out here.

This also was my first wedding where I was lucky enough to work along side a live painter! I was in total awe watching Maggie Smith Kuhn of Watch Maggie Paint capture Pati and Will’s wedding day in a true work of art. She is so incredibly talented and so sweet and kind. She started the painting at the ceremony and worked into the night to create her masterpiece that brought so many people to tears. She even incorporated in the bride and groom’s heritage and family members who had passed through the use of flowers, trees and nature.
