I’m back! I know it’s been a long time since I’ve updated my blog. 7 months to be exact. Sigh… As always, I get so busy during the warm months that my blog suffers. But get ready – I’m about to catch up and show you all the amazing people that I was blessed to photograph in 2016. I thought it would be fitting to start things off with a birth session.
Now, I don’t normally offer birth sessions. It’s not that I don’t love babies coming into this world – on the contrary, it’s one of the most amazing things to witness and photograph! It’s just so hard to know how to schedule for births especially having 3 kids of my own and a husband who works full time. But when one of my beautiful brides (check out Lensi and Jeremiah’s wedding pics here!) asked me if I could photograph the birth of her precious baby – I said yes! And I’m so glad I did.
It was a beautiful summer day in June. I got a text from Jeremiah letting me know that Lensi was dilated to 8. So, I hopped in my car and rushed over to the hospital. Lensi pushed for hours, but, unfortunately, her doctor informed her that they would need to do a c-section to get the little guy out. I’m so thankful that the doctor and hospital allowed me to go into the operating room so I could photograph the birth. Wow! What an amazing thing to witness!
Praise Jesus that baby Rowan and his beautiful mom were both ok. I came back the next day to get a few more shots of this adorable little family. The last photo in this blog is my favorite. Rowan is so cute! Hard to believe he is already 7 months old!
